1. “PM Modi can’t protect fish, how can he save borders?” :Sonia Gandhi

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his promises of shielding the country’s borders, Congress president Sonia Gandhi today questioned about the poor condition of fishermen in the coastal areas, steps taken by the Modi government is depriving fisherman of their employment.

2. Indian economy likely to grow over 8% in FY17: Arvind Panagariya

According to IMD, there are 94 per cent chances of country receiving “normal to above normal” rainfall while there is only 1 per cent probability of “deficient” rainfall. Agriculture, which contributes 15 per cent to India’s GDP and employs about 60 per cent of the country’s population, is heavily dependent on monsoon as only 40 per cent of the cultivable area is under irrigation.
Due to poor monsoon in 2015-16 crop year (July-June), 10 states have declared drought and the Centre has sanctioned a relief package of about Rs 10,000 crore to help farmers.

3. Handling NIT Fracas and Handwara Firing: Mehbooba’s Big Test

Mehbooba will face a crucial test in both Assembly and Parliamentary by-polls later this year. She will contest to the state assembly from a constituency that was held by her father. She will also vacate her Anantnag Parliamentary seat, and hope her brother or a family member emerges victorious. The two seats pose a challenge to her family and to her party. Retaining both would be the target she has set herself.

4. VVIP chopper scam: BJP targets Sonia Gandhi, asks Congress to name bribe-takers

Why cant the BJP government obtain the names from Italy?
Any other nation’s govt would have no problem doing it.
whatever happened to Modi’s promise that India can now look other country in the eye for negotiations?

5. Minority Government Can’t be in Power: Jaitley on Uttarakhand

If they were in minority, you could have waited few more hours for the floor test. Why you & your government were in so hurry?
Modi Government should quickly investigate and put the culprits behind bars, instead asking for a discussion. Jaitley seems to be more interested in media coverage than doing anything worthwhile.
