PB’s twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.
1. Trouble mounts for Vijay Mallya, Mumbai court issues non-bailable arrest warrant
All this hype is orchestrated by the SBI and the RBI to make it appear that the government is doing something to bring back this thief. The RBI and the SBI does not want the citizens of India to know that 15,000 plus crores of public money given by the banks was diverted by Mallaya. Why is the RBI not conducting an independent audit into all the Kingfisher loan accounts in the SBI led consortium member banks? The money lost is public money. It does not belong to the SBI CMD, the RBI Governor or Jaitley. What are they hiding? The UPA gave the public money to Mallaya and the NDA allowed him to run away from India.
2. LTC scam: Nitish Comes Down Heavily on Chargesheeted JD-U MP
These are public stunts by Nitish. He will be rebuking Sahni in public and there is an implicit understanding behind the scenes for their “arrangement”.
Looting public money by politicians has to be stopped. The drive will never be done by ruling class, but by public using social media.
Is Nitish ready to clear out his party from all the goons now?
3. Over Rs 62 Crore Illegal Cash Seized in Poll-Bound States
Election Commission appointed surveillance teams have seized illegal cash of over Rs 62 crore with Tamil Nadu leading the list with the maximum seizures of Rs 24.90 crore. EC has also asked the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the Financial Intelligence Unit and the Customs and Excise department and state police units to keep a strict vigil on all sort of illegal inducements being used to disturb the level playing field.
4. Mamata Forgot Promises After Becoming Chief Minister: Rahul Gandhi
High end comments by him. Just take Mudra Scheme as an example where SC/ST’s and economically backward classes can avail loans and set up their own businesses like running a cab and this scheme is really working on ground. Government will facilitate schemes which will generate direct and indirect employment to the people. Employment not necessarily means running industries and that is not the job of a government irrespective of whoever is in power.
5. Modi, Amit Shah to Campaign in Kerala Assembly Elections
People wonder in Kerala how BJP led central government allows communists misuse total trains in Kerala for their electioneering while denying same privilege to BJP ? If there are any hint of communal or caste divisions propagated in the State during election time, those responsible should be forcefully expelled out from Kerala. The State should not be allowed to become a play ground for cow belt politics.
