PBs twisty take on the top five headlines of the day.

1. Mayawati May Face Fresh Case For Alleged Illegal Wealth

The state unit isn’t strong enough to challenge BSP and SP on it’s own. If Congress goes ahead and forges an alliance with BSP, they will have an edge, especially since SP and BJP can never be together due to SP playing the Muslim card.
In case of SP+Congress and BJP +BSP, the latter will have an edge since Congress is anyway to weak and SP will have anti incumbency.
Whichever national party manages to forge an alliance with BSP will be in a more comfortable position.

2. Congress demands time-bound probe into Handwara firing

The party leaders also questioned the promises made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to protect innocent people and ensure peaceful atmosphere in the state. Kashmir remained tense on Wednesday as one more youth was killed in fresh clashes between protesters and security forces in the Valley amid curfew-like restrictions imposed in view of the disquiet following the death of the three civilians in the firing by Army on Tuesday.

3. Mehbooba Mufti seeks inclusion of Srinagar, Jammu as smart cities

Good idea – it shall generate job opportunities and the citizens shall be gainfully engaged. Moreover, it is a place visited by a lot of foreign/domestic tourists who can bank on improved facilities.

4. 14 Assam Seats Record Over 90% Turnout in Assembly Polls

This might make congress happy. The highest poll turnout in the first phase was in Naoboicha with 88.07 per cent and lowest in Silchar (75.05 per cent) while in the second phase, the lowest voter turnout was in Gauhati (East) with 79.21 per cent.
